Carrefour has surprise for you
Today - 16 July 2007
In line with its 10th anniversary theme - the first is still the best - Carrefour Singapore has lined up a slew of activities that are novel and interesting. For example, 10 lucky winners of its shoppers' draw will get two tickets each to ride on Singapore Flyer's inaugural flight in a private capsule specially arranged by Carrefour. The prize comes with a cocktail party and a commemorative certificate.
Mr Thierry Guillon Verne, operations director at Carrefour Singapore, says:" As perpetual pioneers, we embrace change and thus strive constantly to innovate and offer our shoppers a new shopping experience each time they shop with us. This lucky draw is yet another innovative way to thank our shoppers."
As Singapore’s first hypermart to open in 1997, Carrefour is always introducing surprises, new merchandise and innovative promotions to excite shoppers. It is the first to hold late night pajama sales, durian buffet, and a live demonstration of crocodile deboning.
While Carrefour was the first to introduce the hypermart concept in Singapore in 1997, the retail scene is very different today with more players jumping on the hypermart bandwagon. Nevertheless, Carrefour is confident of riding the competition.
Mr Guillon Verne says:" The fact that Carrefour is the world's second largest retailer with 44 years of experience gives it an edge over others. We will continue to focus on our core business and create more novel ideas and assortment for shoppers. We also hope to constantly shake up the market and continue to be the trendsetter."
As part of its 10th anniversary celebrations, Carrefour will absorb the 2 per cent Goods and Services Tax (GST) increase on all items when you charge to your POSB Everyday credit card via an additional 2 per cent rebate on top of the usual 5 per cent cash rebate.
